India was first taken over by the East India company, who basically were the 'rulers' till smoething in the guns of the army started being greased with cow and pig fat (Hindus worship cows, Muslims aren't the biggest fans of pigs). Then everything got out of hand and the British government took over India. They made it so that Inadins couldn't make salt anymore and had to buy expensive British made products. The improved education and brought English to India. They banned the hindu practice of a widow jumping on her dead husbands body and being burned. They encouraged the conflict between the Hindus and Muslims.
